Bitmit closing news oddity..

Why isn't Bitmit closing a bigger story? Browsing news.google.com, bitmit bitcoin brings up many sock puppet results about how great bitcoin is and how bitmit is a major site. However using the term bitmit closing, there are no relevant results.
Why isn't a major legal marketplace closing considered a big story?
UPDATE - Wow already downvoted. Scary echo chamber here!
Here are some recent bitcoin related articles that don't involve drugs and murder and saw fit to mention Bitmit as a great thing. But now no one seems to care that its closing and wants to write an article about it? Why the silence?
"Bitmit is still the eBay of bitcoin despite setbacks", "Bitcoin: an alternative, digital cryptocurrency", "eBay CEO John Donahoe Is Bullish On Digital Currency"
UPDATE 2 - Wow the downvotes continue from every direction. Why is this such a taboo subject that we are not allowed to discuss it?

Since Bitmit shutdown yesterday, what Bitcoin marketplace do you use (if any)?

EDIT: Thank you to everyone for your comments! I hadn't found a secure marketplace either which was the reason for the thread : /
For btc to take off, I think the greater world is looking for legitimate transactions & financial activity. Currency conversion is great, but it only hints at the possibility that Btc is a stable currency. This is an important problem we need to solve. I registered a domain, Ikebato.com, for a secure, btc marketplace.
If you think this is a big problem, please join the mailing list. We can build something great, but I'd need your help. I'll keep everyone up to date on our progress.
The core is a stable, secure, scalable marketplace for people to buy & sell with btc. Building sites like this is what I have done in Silicon Valley the last 6 years. It is a solvable problem, but it does need a community to support it.
If you all are interested, I'm willing to put in the time.

Just sold something for bitcoin using Bitmit

I just made my first Bitcoin transaction ever. I sold some Eve online plex on Bitmit! Was really surprised how easy it was. The transaction was quick and stopped some of the worries I had about making transactions using this currency.
I highly recommend the site.

Is anyone interested in a Bitcoin marketplace (similar to bitmit or coingig)?

Ever since Bitmit went under, we started working on a site where you can buy and sell things using bitcoin. We're still actively working on it but we wanted to hear what kinds of features are important to you guys. The site uses multisig to create buyer and seller protection.

Are there any Bitcoin Auction sites like Bitmit?

Thanks...
and anyone know why Bitmit closed down?
My guess is that the longevity of the Business is not worth the struggle. As soon as ebay integrates Bitcoin, you're pretty much done.

Is it legal/safe to buy steam games off of Bitmit with Bitcoin?

I was just looking at BitMarket and this website seemed to be used. I browsed it and noticed it has games, and I was wondering if it is legal and safe. I think it would be, but could my steam account get shut down for this? Better safe than sorry. Thanks in advance.

bitcoin auction and selling sites (bitmit)

Yesterday I asked the insane frown posse that is bitcoin about selling sites for actual stuff. This was after quite a frustrating attempt at listing items on bitmit.
I thought I was missing the wood amongst the trees but after emailing the bitmit team with my problem (no category drop down box) they helpfully got back to me within a few hours and it turns out I'm not a complete luddite. On certain browsers there are glitches, which they're fixing. I'm using a macbook, they said it's fine on chrome and firefox.
This update is for those who might've been experiencing similar problems.

New E-Cig Vendor Accepts Bitcoin on bitmit.net

Hello everyone. Check this item, and the many more I have put up and plan on putting up in the future @ https://www.bitmit.net/en/item/51342-vamo-v3-mod-device-only-factory-sealed-free-shipping
I just began this account today, so yes, technically a noob in regards to posting, but I am a long time spectator and peruser of many different subreddits on my other account.
I would like to introduce you to GreatVapez. I started this up as I was relaxing one day, taking into consideration two of the things I consider my nerd like hobbies: bitcoin, and vaping. I looked around for a vendor who sold ecig products for bitcoin and noticed there was a serious lack of quality products, very sub par. My goal is to change this system and offer products different than boring and low quality twist batteries and cartridges.
If your going to quit smoking analogs, do it in style...besides, it is still cheaper and healthier for you than smoking ever was!!!
I am based out of British Columbia, Canada, but I obtain my products from a mutual friend and business partner who owns and operates several warehousing and distribution companies located around Asia. I offer FREE SHIPPING on all my products, and I can offer any assistance you may need along the way. All of my goods are authentic, unless otherwise stated as a clone of an item.
I hope to grow and adapt to the needs of the bitcoin vaping community so please let me know if there is a product you would like to see on my page. I will do my very best to obtain these said products in a timely manner, and sell them to you for a fair price.
Thank you for your time.

Buying bitcoin with ease: sell things on Bitmit?

I would like to purchase some bitcoins, but the process seems to involve wire transfers and giving personal information to dodgy-looking organizations no matter where I look.
But since Bitmit exists, I'm thinking the path of least resistance is to buy Amazon gift codes directly from Amazon with my credit card like always, and sell the codes on Bitmit. It looks like this is a thing people do. Is there any reason I should not do this?
I'm sure there are other gift cards that are redeemable by emailed codes, but Amazon is kind of universally simple and easy and in high demand everywhere.
Any advice?
Thanks.
-edit- It took a few days but my first Amazon gift code finally sold. It's less hassle than Bitinstant, which was admittedly fast. Unless I need to buy quickly, I'll continue using Bitmit.
